I thought Ant Man was so average, but I'm not the biggest Marvel fan. Prefer the DC movies.

Watched "Ronaldo" last night if you can class that as a film. Thought it was a great watch, love or hate him it was really good to see the other side of his life.

Also had some great footballing moments that were beautifully captured.

Re: The Pancho Film Thread 2015...
I think Antman might save the super hero genre for me in that it was not just a super hero movie, it was a heist movie .
They have some very decent actors and writers under contract so if they can ad some variety of story/genre going forward there will be some good movies.

Really ? Thought Ant Man was pretty average, if amusing. The superhero thing is getting a bit tired for me also.

Quite enjoyed Sicario but not all it was cracked up to be.

Beasts of no nation is the best thing I've seen from this year.

Re: The Gift

Do you mean Jason Bateman?

Is a good recent thriller, you will see the twist coming a mile off though, would recommend watching it still though.

The current Bond under Craig's stewardship is more a reaction to the Bourne films innit?
Might pop along and take a look this weekend with West Ham on holiday.

Re: The Pancho Film Thread 2015...
Getting to/required to read some Bond novels for a university class a number of years ago, I would categorically say that Craig is not the Bond from the novels. A combination of the aesthetic of Dalton and personality of Connery as I read it.

There were Fleming's ideal exaggeration, not approaching realism as Craig does somewhat.

Re: The Pancho Film Thread 2015...
Monk - Yes, I think the present day Bond is more realistic to what you would expect for someone in that job, ie a person not cracking jokes and trying to pulll birds all the time, lke pevious Bonds did. It's a view I've seen shared elsewhere too.Why would he have to be sophisticated and well educated? That's not to say that the current Bond doesn't carry any of them traits 'coz I think he does, but not as much as before, which IMO makes him more realistic.
